One of the most remarkable bands of the Nublu Jazz Festival is the Swedish ensemble Junip; featuring Tobias Winterkorn, Elias Araya and José González, of whom you’ll be familiar with from his solo work. Their first album that they’ve been itching to make ever since, is released in 2010.  It has a unique, hazy and hypnotic sound that leans on the unconventional blend of influences, from folk-jazz to psychedelic soul and krautrock. Fields, their debut album is a heady and seductive brew, defined by the warmth of Winterkorn’s keyboards, Araya’s insistent rhythms and González‘s distinctive, softly-sung voice and enigmatic lyricism. Junip will be at Babylon for a very special performance on March 5th for Nublu Jazz Festival!
