Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott’s project, Gorgon City, gets the dance floor moving with a touch of house, dance-pop and garage. The British duo broke onto the scene in 2012 with their EP called The Crypt. They continue to build on that success with their album, Kingdom, released this year.
The Drums made their mark with their self-titled debut album and the track, ‘Let’s Go Surfing’. Their music is reminiscent of the energetic clatter-punk of 1970s British DIY bands. The band burst onto the music charts with the singles ‘Heart Basel’ and ‘Blood Under My Belt’ from their new album. The Drums seem to combine The Smiths’ hyper-dramatic effect and The Clean’s Literary Pop style.
Whilk & Misky
Catching the attention of many with their track ‘Clap Your Hands’, Whilk & Misky released their new EP ‘My Round’ on 26 May. Combining conventional instruments with minimal electronic backing tracks, the duo reached over 30 million plays on Hype Machine with Clap Your Hands. Solomun’s remix of the track remained in the Top 5 for 15 weeks at Shazam, Billboard and Mixmag’s Top Tracks of the Summer.
A multidisciplinary artist of Iranian origin, Sevdaliza gained recognition for her electronic, trip-hop, grime and avant-garde music. Her lyrics contain philosophical queries and are influenced by famous novelists. Sevdaliza released the EPs ‘The Suspended Kid’ and ‘Children of Silk’, followed by the album ‘ISON’ this year.
Known for the hit songs ‘Walking with a Ghost’ and ‘Castle in the Snow’, Kadebostany played at various festivals like Sziget, Paleo, Fusion, Montreux Jazz Festival and Montreal en Lumiere as well as prestigious venues like Berghain, Rotonde, Hoxton and Zenith. Getting ready to expand their reach and push the boundaries of the pop culture with their new album ‘Monumental’, the band will take the stage at Babylon Soundgarden.
One of the most influential names of the downtempo, trip-hop and hip-hop scenes, Wax Tailor has released 4 studio and 2 live albums, totalling 6 albums to this day. The French producer performed at over 600 events in 50 countries, and featured artists like Marina Quaisse, Charlotte Savary, Mr Gib and Madwreck & Mattic. Wax Tailor manages to smoothly combine soul, funk, hip-hop and 1960s pop music, and will present some of the most vibrant examples of his work at the festival.
Vokal ve gitarda Tolga Akdoğan, elektrik gitarda Emre Malikler, basgitarda Can Aydemir ve davulda Berkan Tilavel'den oluşan grup, özellikle dinamik performanslarıyla tanınıyor. Birçok türü Türkçe sözlerle bir araya getirerek kompakt bir müzik deneyimi sunan ekip, deniz kıyısında doğanın ve iyi müziğin keyfini sürmek isteyenlerle Babylon Soundgarden’da yaza veda edecek.
Hey Douglas is one of the successful solo projects of recent times. He blends 1970s’ psychedelic, funk and soul songs with 1970s’ disco beats.
