Karsu, who received a standing ovation for her concerts at the prestigious New York Carnegie Hall scene and the North Sea Jazz Festival, will be performing what she calls ‘Karsu music,’ a blend of jazz, blues, soul and funk with Turkish classical music.
Karsu often performs in Europe and around the world as well as in scenes in Istanbul, Alanya, Ankara, and Akbank Jazz Festivals, attracting great interest from music lovers. She made an impression with her concerts in one the of the world’s most important scenes New York, Carnegie Hall and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Karsu is not only a pianist but also a great singer, songwriter, composer and arranger who has created her own style by blending jazz, blues and funk music with Turkish classical music. In addition to her self-composed English songs, she also performs covers of Turkish songs like ‘Divane Aşık Gibi,’ ‘Gesi Bağları,’ ‘Domates Biber Patlıcan,’ and ‘Neredesin Sen.’ Karsu is the first Turkish rooted singer to receive the prestigious Dutch Edison award.
