Delorean

Chillwave takes over Babylon!

Spanish alternative dance act Delorean was formed in 2000 in Basque region of Spain. Delorean, named after the iconic time machine featured in the Back to the Future series, released an EP and two studio albums between 2004 and 2006 with a little mainstream success. Afterwards, Delorean relocated to Barcelona, to focus on more computer-based composition and production. Because of the low quality of the local dance music scene, the band members created their own eclectic club night, Desparrame, in Barcelona. Remixing The XX, Cold Cave, and Franz Ferdinand gave Delorean exposure in the music scene. Following their successful visit to the 2007 SXSW festival in Texas the band released Transatlantic KK, a variation of the second studio album Into the Plateau, via New York-based Simple Social Graces label. The band subsequently toured with Swedish act like JJ and Miike Snow. In 2010, Delorean released their third album, Subiza, and instantly gained recognition in alternative music scene. The Chillwave surfers from Barcelona, Delorean will be at Babylon on March 18th Friday night with the sponsorship of Burn, for an exciting night, especially for the alternative music fans!
