American singer and multi-instrumentalist Curtis Harding will take our stage on September 10th!

Hardins’s musical palette of vintage soul, R&B, hip-hop, garage rock, and psychedelia stems from his mother who is a gospel singer. The Michigan-born musician spent much of his formative years on the move, bouncing between north and south until his family ultimately landed in Atlanta. He learned to sing and play drums in church with his mother, who introduced him to the likes of Mahalia Jackson and Mavis Staples. But it was his sister’s collection of hip-hop tapes that would push him towards a career in music and inspire him to begin writing and rapping. He then wanted to incorporate everything under this musical knowledge together and focused on his guitar and live instrumentation work. With this unique sound Harding released his 2014 debut Soul Power. After this strong entrance, he released his second album Face Your Fear, co-produced by Sam Cohen and Danger Mouse, and got praised by critics. NPR declared the record one of the year’s best R&B releases. With the world on fire and the music industry on hold, Harding headed back to writing and released If Words Were Flowers in 2021. He was also inspired by social and political movements. Wanting to give his flowers to the people cared about and loved, Harding sings about how the words carry power by being so proud and beautiful: “If words were flowers, I’d give them all to you.”
