Babylon Picks concerts continue with Immortal Onion and Freakin’ Disco on April 24 at Babylon.
Immortal Onion
Immortal Onion is one of the most interesting new jazz projects from Poland. After two well-received albums, Ocelot of Salvation in 2017 and XD in 2020, the band’s latest release, Screens, recorded at the initiative of saxophonist Michał Jan Ciesielski, proves that jazz and electronic fusion can still feel fresh and thrilling. With its intricate structures, sharp tempo changes and multi-layered narratives, each Immortal Onion track promises an adventure of its own.
Freakin’ Disco
Hailing from Budapest, Freakin’ Disco crafts deep, psychedelic, and groovy music. The elemental power of their live performances transports the audience to space. Their third album, TOTEM, was released in 2023. The album featured producer Steve Dub, notable for his work with The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy, and earned them a spot on IMPALA's "100 Bands to Watch in 2023" list.
The Babylon Picks concert series is guided by a thoughtful curation process; a practice akin to preparing a mixtape for those we care about. Fair warning: the acts featured in this series may surprise and delight you, potentially becoming your new favorites.
