Babylon Picks concerts continue with the Kiefer Trio on March 5 at Babylon.

Kiefer is a central figure in the diverse independent music scene of Los Angeles. His sound fuses various modalities of Black American Music, from jazz and R&B to hip-hop and electronic music.

Growing up in California, Kiefer began experimenting with hip hop beats after being introduced to jazz at a young age, thanks to the guidance of his parents. He then got his education in beats from attending shows at Low End Theory and collaborating with other artists in the scene. After his debut came out through Leaving Records in 2017, Kiefer joined LA’s iconic Stones Throw label and has since released three solo albums on the label. Outside of his solo work, Kiefer has recorded with artists such as Kaytranada, Sir, and Terrace Martin, and produced for Anderson .Paak.

Kiefer at his core is both emotional and an optimist, which is why his songs resonate on a wide spectrum of emotion. On Wednesday, March 5, at the Babylon stage, Kiefer will deliver a special Trio performance. The trio's album Something For Real, recorded at a live show in the spring of 2023, was released by Stones Throw in recent months.
