Carmen Souza who draws colorful line between Afro-Latin, world music and jazz music will be at Babylon on 17th of April with her poetical performance.

Portuguese musician Carmen Souza, like other successful musicians, has started to sing in church choir. Carmen Souza who is inspired from Nina Simone was discovered by significant jazz bassist Theo Pas’cal who later became her mentor and also they started to write Souza’s songs together and she used her ancestor’s language Creole… She brings together African cultural music with Cape Verde’s rhythms like Batuke and Morna and she released his first album in 2005.  Souza released her last album “Kachupada” again with Theo Pas’cal and will be at Babylon one more time.
