The psychedelic winds of Istanbul Streets are blowing with BaBa ZuLa on February 22!
For more than 25 years, BaBa ZuLa has been carrying the self-proclaimed “Istanbul Psychedelia” into the future. The band will take the Babylon stage on Saturday, February 22, with their unique sound, blending 1960s psychedelic music and Anatolian rock rhythms with dub and electronic influences.
Since 1996, BaBa ZuLa has been creating wonders non-stop. The band has recorded and performed with legendary musicians such as Sly & Robbie, Mad Professor, Brenna MacCrimmon, Bugge Wesseltoft, Selim Sesler, and Alexander Hacke. From Japan to Portugal, Kazakhstan to Germany, they have become a worldwide festival favorite, with performances that are festivals in themselves.
BaBa ZuLa released their new album Istanbul Sokakları (Istanbul Streets) in the fall of 2024 through the well-established Glitterbeat Records (international) and Ada Müzik (Turkey). Istanbul Sokakları captures the city’s rhythm with dub grooves and is the most politically charged work in the band's expansive discography.
