Just like every year, we will be celebrating the 78th birthday of Bob Marley, the symbol of peace and love, together on February 4th! Sattas will perform songs of Bob Marley after C Fyah opens the night with his DJ set. We will dance along Simba Sound System and Iyah Ranks’ bass loaded sonic experiment after Sattas’ performance. Join us for this special night, in which we will sing along with the songs of Bob Marley, who was followed by masses and continuously expressed his passion towards freedom, love and life.

Sattas

One of the leading reggae bands of the local music scene, Sattas was formed by independent musicians with different musical views, tastes and musical traditions with the aim of creating and performing together. Blending diverse forms of jazz, ska, dub and rock in their music without drifting apart from the essence of reggae, the band made a name for themselves with their contemporary sounds, creative interpretations, energetic performances and the special interaction they have created with their fans. Manifesting the rhythm and dynamics of the musical attitude that they represent locally and internationally with their own unique style, Sattas invites all music lovers to their unprecedented live performances.

Simba Roots Sound System feat. Iyah Ranks

Starting in Jamaica in the 50’s and spreading out to England and Europe in the 70’s, sound system culture was born with the goal of enjoying all frequencies of reggae and dub music, especially bass. Simba Roots Sound System was formed in 2013 as local representatives of the sound system culture, which spread out to the whole world by impacting different underground genres such as drum’n bass and jungle as well as many sub genres of dance music. They made themselves known through the “DubclubIstanbul” events during which they hosted important names of the international reggae scene such as Vibronics, Salomon Heritage, Partial Records, Echtronix, Irie Action and Boris Reality. Formed by Simba Roots, Reggaelation and Dubfactor, the band has the largest vinyl archive of the country, comprising all genres of reggae and dub from the 70’s to nowadays. Banging out sweet and mystical vibes with various effects and sirens through their handmade speakers and a single turntable, Simba Roots Sound System invites their audience to a healing and unifying dance experience. The band will reunite its forces with Switzerland based MC Singjay/Iyaj Ranks for our Bob Marley Birthday Celebration gathering.

C Fyah

As a selecta and DJ since 2012, C Fyah creates dynamic combinations of genres in his sets where he features genres such as reggae, dancehall, dub, digital dub, garage, drum’n bass and jungle. Recently focusing on his own productions, the DJ promises a dynamic and energetic experience to his audience. C Fyah also hosts the monthly radio show “Beton Orman On Air” on 95.0 Açık Radyo.
