Nublu Jazz Festival is presenting a unique jazz vocalist: Laika.

 NOKIA OVI MÜZİK PRESENTS: NUBLU JAZZ FESTİVAL 2011

Laika is born in Paris to a Moroccan-Spanish origined mother and a father from Ivory Coast. She was deeply influenced by the heat of the Mediterranean culture and Sephardic music in her early life thanks to her mother and grandmother. While bringing together her complex background with a passion for jazz, Laika draws inspiration from legendary names such as Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. After finding a place in Claude Bolling's orchestra and Laika started to make collaborative projects with Antoine Roney, Michael Bowie and David El Malek.  Talented young jazz vocalist has also made herself a name in acting, taking parts in many plays, jazz operas and French movies. After performing in Vienna Jazz Festival and Celestina del Sol, Laila and her band, will be at Babylon for Nublu Jazz Festival!
