Blending Turkish psychedelia and South London’s colours with alternative R&B, leftfield electronica and sounds of the culture in which he grew up, emir taha will be our guest on the night of May 5th!

Living the first 18 years of his life in Turkey, the musician became curious about music production at a young age. After learning production by himself, he started sharing his covers of his favourite songs with his own unique style on the internet. His first releases caught the eye of names such as Kenan Doğulu and the young musician found himself in American playlists and drew the attention of record labels. Moving to London for university and continuing his musical creations, emir taha made himself known with his open mic performances. Currently living in South London, the artist makes music with his roommates Jay Moon and Pablo Bowman, and continues to grow his fanbase by working with renowned producers such as Detonate (Sia, Diplo, Labrinth), Felix Joseph (Pa Salieu, Mahalia) and Al Shux (SZA). emir taha focuses on themes such as lack of belonging, expatriation, identity confusion in his debut project “Hoppa Pt. 1” (2020) and “Hoppa Pt. 2” (2021), and creates a unique style by weaving through Turkish and English lyrics. Bringing successfully the duality of his eastern legacy and current western environment into his sound, the musician is under the radar of magazines and platforms such as BC 1Xtra, The Guardian/Observer One To Watch, Complex, Colors, Dazed, NME, Dazed, Notion, Clash, Crack Magazine, DIY, Rolling Stone UK and GQ.
