Roberto Fonseca is a Havana born pianist who is considered to be one of the brightest names in modern Cuban music. Even though Fonseca started playing the piano in his very early ages, his initial interest was percussion.
This interest from such an early age would clearly influence his trademark “percussive” piano-playing style. He is a modern interpreter of traditional Cuban music’s passion and energy. After his 7th album was released he went on a tour. He made collaborations with musicians such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Guajiro Mirabal ,Omara Portuondo and Angá Díaz. His song ‘Llego Cachaito’ was used in Hancock’s soundtrack. Despite his young age Roberto Fonsece is already a star. It is going to be a warm night in Babylon!
