Kurt Rosenwinkel who was discovered by Gary Burton while he was studying at Berklee School of Music has been sharing his music with us for over twenty years. His soft and flowing melodies and balanced use of distortion resembles the musical stylings of Pat Metheny and John Scofield. Rosenwinkel, who previously worked with Aaron Goldberg, Joe Martin, Eric Harland, Mark Turner and Brad Mehldau holds the The National Endowment for the Art Composer’s award. Rosenwinkel will show fifty shades of his guitar on the Babylon stage with his solo performance.
Great talent young artist Bilal Karaman known as a guitar player and composer, has been tuning into music since he was 11 years old. Chosen as one of the 5 most successful local guitarists by Jazz Magazine he has ever since shared the stage with legendary names such as L. Butch Morris, Lars Danielsson and Aydın Esen.
Alongside his musical background and knowledge, he has managed to restructure traditional Turkish music and intergrate it with jazz rhythms. Bilal Karaman will be performing on the Babylon stage, following Kurt Rosenwinkel’s mind blowing guitar performance.
