One of Turkey’s modern voices Ceylan Ertem will be at Babylon on Wednesday night, 27 September, presenting her large repertoire.
Ceylan Ertem moved to Istanbul in 1999 for her education in the areas of musical singing and musicology and joined the rock band anima in 2000. The band released their first album ‘animasal’ under the label Sony Music in 2006. Ertem produced music, recoded albums and toured with Phillipp Gropper in Germany, United Fools in France, and Barana in The Netherlands. Her first solo album ‘Soluk’ was released in 2010 and was followed by the album ‘Ütopyalar Güzeldir’ in 2012. Both albums received positive reviews from many critics and ranked among the most successful albums of the year. Her album ‘Xenolopolis’ recorded with Barana in Amsterdam was released under the Baykuş Müzik label. In 2014, Ceylan Ertem released her 3rd solo album ‘Amansız Gücenik’ from Sony Music in November and took the stage at JazzAhead in April. At the end of 2015, she released the ‘YUH!’ Album, which has 10 new covers. In February, singer and song writer Ertem released her last album ‘Yine de Amin,’ which she recorded in Gaziantep in the southern part of Turkey. She continues a busy schedule of concerts, both international and domestic.
