First making a name for himself in the 90s, Nils Petter Molvaer is one of the most important representatives of modern Norwegian jazz music.

Combining jazz and ambient, Molvaer is a name that many look to and admire. Lauded for his trumpet and keyboard compositions, which feature electronic elements, Molvaer is one of the artists who gained recognition during the Brian Eno-led wave of jazz electronic fusion in the 90s. Molvaer’s debut album Khmer, is considered to be a groundbreaking testament to his unique perspective. His 2009 release “Hamada” features a tone which highlights the Scandinavian musician’s darker side.
